Tim Nguyễn
なんども* – A SERIES OF HAIKU ON WAR
Bear torch for re-volts,
brace an ember to nights so
bellicose —
bruised, moaned.
Let his wax
m e l t b’low
the rheumy
fountain,
drip- -ping
‘tween quaking trenches.
Cast silhouettes at
the alter — napalm, gas for
scandalous shadows,
’til night concedes, and
the fiends,
witches,
ghasts on walls
c-ease to grunt and
gasp —
